Sri Lanka has a rich artisanal heritage – from the batik workshops and hand-loom weavers of the hill country to the brass and wood carvers of Kandy, the lacquerwork of Matale, and the mask-making tradition of the southern coastal villages. We arrange workshops and studio visits where travellers can observe and participate in the craft process, and purchase directly from the makers.
